how i about had a heart attack.

my pitt ull boxer mix is a VERY energetic dog. We love her very much. She doesnt have the brains the good lord gave a mud. So taking my dog out before we were going to town i left her off leash. yes i know dumb mistake, but she has been really good about not dashing off. Which is exactly what she decided to do once she saw a cat run across the street. not my cat mind you. those stay in the house, but right as i was to put her back on the darn leash she sees the cat and dashes ou after it. An suv going 45 mph hit her broad side. Now on most dogs right there the dog would be dead, but because of her pitt-like body her muscular nature took the impact and spread the damage out. after she rolled under the vehicle, the man slammed on his breaks draging her about 30 ft. this again might hurt a normal dog, but blue is a super dog. Her loose skin rolled with her making the damage again minamal. The impact with the pavement knocked her out good. thick skull, i highly recomend it!!! when we got her out from under the vehicle i thought she was dead. But then she gave this big cough and whine. i rushed over to her, grabbed her and took her over to the side walk, to wait for tim who ran to get the truck. its a good this we live right next to the vet. Dr. blood is AMAZING!!!! we love his guts!! he helped us out right away, and was very underdtanding of my VERY emotional outburst. She had some swelling on her brain, two blown eyes, very bruised lungs, and some minor cuts and abrasions. she was a mess! she got to come home the next day. she will have to keep very quiet for the next few days. she isnt mentally altered. but i dont see her running off anytime soon, and she has been better with the kiddos.
thanks to all of you for your prayers and concerns! It has totally made me feel better that someone cares!
